Today was the bomb.

Hahaaha :) Talk about summer!!!!

So today... I woke up, hung out around the house for a while, got dressed and stuff, then went up to meet my Grandma in American Fork. We took her to lunch at Zupas (mmmmmmmm) and then went shopping for some stuff. I got a SUUUPER cute shirt and dress :) Very summery.

Then my mom and I went to the mall and got some BRIGHT YELLOW leggins and some pretzel bites.

We came home, I played guitar for a while, then my dad and I ate dinner together out by the lake and went exploring around Eagle Mountain, to see if we could watch the PRCA Rodeo without having to pay for tickets :)

Then we came home, and Nicole Sellers was here! Ah I love that girl. So we hung out, played with my dogs, and then went to the store. The conversation with the cashier at Days went a little like this..

Me (trying to talk to Nicole, but I don't think that went so well): "Do you ever... like, eat people?"
The Cashier (with a very awkward look on her face): "Yes... it's something I do regularly? Something I try to stay away from, it's like, addictive. Eat those peanut butter bars you're buying to stay away from those people eatings..."

Walking out of the store:

Me: "I hope I never see that person again.."
Nicole: "Do YOU eat people!?"

Then we came home, and ate ice cream and peanut butter bars. Talk about a FATT ERIKA! Ha, ha. Then we had a chocolate milk mustache competition. I believe I won :) Then Nicole had to go home and I'm writing this blog post :)

I love you people.

Don't worry, I would never eat you....

Not yet.

The Very Last Country Song

I've been meaning to get around to this one for a while.

It's been a rough little while for me in the past weeks. It's one of those times when you find out who your friends are. I've had a few of my close friends die in the tornadoes in Alabama, Missouri, and Tennessee. It's been rough and hard but we've been surviving.

We all have a companion that isn't really a physical companion. Like in a sense, writing is some people's companion. They write when they need someone to talk to, to express themselves. Music is mine. And this is why I listen to it. Music speaks. To everyone in a different way. And I'm hoping this song will speak to you.

Very Last Country Song - Sugarland

Make sure you listen to everything, including the short interview at the front. It explains the story behind the song.

My favorite part of this song is where, in the second verse, she's talking about her babies and you can hear her smile when she says that the last wasn't planned. :)

"Our scars are what make us beautiful..."

Small Miracles.

Today. Fabulous.

Saylor's baptism was today. For those of you who don't know Saylor, she's a cute little gal with Spina Bifida. My mom works over at the school so she helps her durin' the day and stuff.

It was really an amazing baptism and the spirit was super strong with that little girl. It was great to see her again and her siblings as I haven't seen them since last year. That's a looooong time to not have her cute smile in your life.

She was pretty dang cute in her dress with the necklace my mom and I gave her.

Sometimes I forget how much I love this church. I mean, I ain't a perfect Mormon, and I'm probably one of the worst. But still, we got this sense of love and unity with whatever you do. And when you go to something like that.. and watch a little girl be carried  into the font in her father's arms, that's special right there. I was crying like a baby.

So I guess the title of this post shouldn't be small miracles.. but big ol' ones that make you smile from ear to ear. I love this church. I love that little girl.

You like that?

That song challenge thing sure lasted long. Ha.

Day 1 and we're done.

Today was like. The bomb. Well. Sorta.

My alarm went off at 4:30 but then I hit the snooze button so by the time I got up it was closer to 5. We had to be at school by 5:30 in order to feed the teacher's breakfast for Teacher Appreciation Week. That was torture. I was on hashbrown duty, so my ground and I camped out in Mrs. Thornock's room, with the electric pans, just... makin' hashbrowns. I smelled like a McDonald's breakfast all day long.

I guess it wasn't too bad, we got to miss first and second period and then eat all the leftovers from breakfast. Our hashbrowns were hardly cooked and not at all crispy like the look on the package but hey, we only had like an hour by the time we got our griddles working, and then when they finally heated up we had like 45 minutes left and those stupid potatoes took forever. We were still cookin' when everyone came in to start first period. :P But they were pretty nice on the butter and were at least edible. I was proud, considering none of us had ever made hashbrowns before. Good job team.

5th period was the bomb. I've never said that and will never say it again. But today choir rocked socks. We ate doughnuts, played frisbee outside, sat on tall people, it was fabulous.

After school I went to the craft store with my mom to get a few things for my fundraiser for my Sugarland fund;) It's pretty rockin'... sellin' personalized bags (Like my LMP bag) for $10 for small and $15 for large. I'll post some samples in a bit. I've already gotten a ton of order so if anyone wants to contribute... to the poor and needy...

Then we ran some more errands, went to Provo Beach Resort and did the rope course, got a snow cone, and then watched Tangled. My mom is the best.

And now my but is very sore.

Stupid ropes :)

Fabulous.

:)

Goodnight everyone. I'm gonna fall over any second I'm so tired. Don't do well runnin' off of 4 hours of sleep :P
